Causes of periodontitis
 There are many causes that lead to periodontitis, the most important of which are the following:
 Tooth decay, where bacteria travel from the dental caries to the pulp of the teeth, causing inflammation.
Gum disease or food residue stuck between the gums and teeth.
 Exposure of the teeth to accidents or blows, or chronic and continuous pressure on the teeth such as cases of bruxism, which is the process of teeth rubbing against each other during sleep without realizing.
The presence of fractures in the teeth or in their fillings.
 The presence of problems in the bone surrounding the teeth, such as the presence of cysts or cancer.
The molar was exposed to a very high temperature.
 Sinusitis, which leads to pain in the roots of the teeth near the sinuses, especially when pressing on them.
